  • Notes
    • (Medical):She had cancer about 10 years before she died. She died in a nursing home after being there about a year. She had just given up and quit eating.
    • (Research):The following info provided by David J. Potter (grandson):

She had cancer about 10 years before she died. She died in a nursing home after being there about a year. She had just given up and quit eating. Several days before she passed away, I call Frank Loeffler, another grandson, and asked him to join me in giving her a blessing. I acted as spokesman in the blessing. I felt impressed to release her from this earthly life during the prayer. I felt strongly that there wre others at her bedside waiting to welcome her to the other side. After the prayer as I lookd at Frank, it was if his countenance was that of his father's (Frank). It really took me back. I believe Frank was on the other side waiting to help his mother home.

Grandmother did not want to be buried. She elected to be cremated. Her remains are at the moseleum on the north side of Salt Lake above the cemetary.
    • Birthdate found in old family bible in the possession of David Potter.

"Mother told me at one time that her name was Dorothea but she didn't like the name so changed it to Dorothy." Maria Loeffler - letter 6/1/81

Interment at Salt Lake Mausoleum in Salt Lake City. By her desire, she was cremated and her ashes are in the Mousoleum on the north side of Salt Lake above the cementary.
